IATA FIATA INTERNATIONAL CARGO AGENTS TRANING PROGRAMME

The IATA/FITA International Cargo Agents Diploma has gained worldwide industry recognition as the premier qualification for anyone wishing to persue a career in the air cargo forwarding industry.

The IATA/FIATA International Cargo Agents Training Programme consists of the following courses:

Cargo Introductory Course
The Introductory Course takes into account a number of changes in the air cargo industry and the evolution of the industry towards the adoption of the Montreal Protocol.
  • Industry regulations: ICAO-IATA-FIATA
  • The air cargo agency: The IATA cargo agent - The Consolidator
  • World Geography: IATA 3-letter codes - time differences - calculation of transportation times
  • Use of Guides: The OAG Air Cargo Guides
  • Aircraft: bulk loading limitations - Unit Load
  • Devices (ULDs) Handling facilities; aricraft and cargo terminal facilities
  • Air Cargo acceptance
  • Cargo booking procedures
  • Cargo automation
  • Air Cargo rates and charges: application of TACT (The Air Cargo Tariff)
  • THe Airway bill: completion - labelling and marking
Air Cargo Rating
Persons holding the IATA/FIATA International Air Cargo Rating Diploma are considered qualified under the terms of the IATA Resolutions applicable to IATA's accrediation of Cargo Agents.
  • Review of basic cargo rating principles: The air cargo Tariff (TACT)-IATA areas and sub-areas, chargeable weight, rates and charges, AirWaybill completion.
  • Currency regulations: conversion rates: rounding off procedures
  • Construction rates (general cargo, specific commodity and class rates)
  • Combination of rates and charges (international general cargo rates, specific commodity and class rates)
  • Mixed consigments, declaration fo the goods - rating - Air Waybill completion
  • ULD's definitions, specifications, classifications and identifications of ULD's - general rules governing the use of ULD's - ULD charges.
Dangerous Goods Regulations
Initial Persons holding the IATA/FIATA Dangerous Goods Regulations Certificate are considered qualified under the terms of the IATA Resolutions applicable to IAYA's accreditation.

Dangerous Goods Regulations - Recurrent
This Revalidating diploma course is available to students (airline staff, cargo agents and shippers or packers) who have already completed the IATA/FIATA Dangerous GOods Regulations course or an equivalent dangerous goods course and who must regularly update their knowledge in order to remain qualified under the terms of the applicable IATA Resolutions.
