IITC Mumbai had organized an educative "Study Tour" for their Interior Designing students to Hettich - A hardware showroom, one of the world's leading manufacturers of furniture fittings.
It was a well-guided walk-through tour of various hardware materials used in kitchen cabinets, kitchen corners, drawers, overhead flap fittings, wardrobe fittings, walk in closets, office workstations and much more.
IITC Ahmedabad Students of IATA March 2019 and Interior Designing were taken on a walk through "The Sardar Patel National Memorial", Shahibaug, Ahmedabad accompanied by their faculties Mr. Chirag Patel and Mrs.Sheetal Thakkar.
IATA students got to learn many aspects of history and little known facts about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, his life and his contributions to India . The visit was an eye opener for all and in future, everybody will promote this monument visit to all visitors to Ahmedabad and Gujarat and thereby help in conserving our rich culture and heritage for the World Heritage city of Ahmedabad. Interior students got information about Palace's original structure and its different renovated sections. They also could understand how to maintain balance in a renovated section preserving the original aesthetics and using modern techniques like 3D theatre, Interactive
Multimedia Hall with Wall projections. The most enjoyable part of the guided tour was the 20 minute video as well as the interactive multimedia room where everyone indulged in answering quiz questions and listening to speeches, etc.

IITC had arranged an INDUSTRIAL VISIT to Furniture Manufacturing Units in Bhiwandi for their Interior Designing Students of IITC Mumbai as a part of the course curriculum.
Students visited Arihant Mattress, one of the largest mattress & furniture manufacturers in India. For the past 10+ years, they have been making their expertise in engineering and manufacturing high-quality & high-end mattress for star hotels, hospitals and even the Indian Navy mattresses with natural materials, and innovative technology to ensure better sleep.
This was one of its kind units where students got the opportunity to see & learn in detail the steps involved in manufacturing scientifically designed & ergonomically developed Mattresses for body soothing, back care for people suffering from problems like spondylitis, arthritis, back-aches, and a billion other health hazards. IITC Interior Designers learned the need to suggest the right type of mattresses to their clients during their career in Interiors, that helps body revitalize & rejuvenate in the most comfortable way while sleeping for eternal health & relaxation.
It was indeed a very informative & useful visit for all.
As a part of the Interior Designing course curriculum the IITC students are given exposure to understand the use of different materials used in the field of construction. The main purpose is to attain market knowledge and how to facilitate it into their works. One such visit was conducted at CLASSIC MARBLE COMPANY one of the largest importers of stones in India. Here the students were exposed to a variety of Italian marbles, semi precious stones such as Onyx , types of granites, composite stones, tiles and the variety of treatments done on the same.
An informative visit to Hafele Studio was conducted by IITC Mumbai, for their 2018-2019 Batch of Interior Designing students where the students learnt about the specialized products and fittings available by the leading brand Hafele. It was quite an insightful visit where the budding interior designers of IITC Mumbai were informed about the applications and use of the various fittings.
A visit was organised by IITC, on the 27th September 2019, Friday at Hettich. In this visit students had a wonderful time and are thankful to the Hettich Team for sparing their valuable time & knowledge with our INTERIOR DESIGNING students in giving insight about hardware.
The Team was extremely kind to share the knowledge about wardrobe, kitchen, pantry, office door related hardware. Students also learnt about solutions for smooth operation of sliding channels, slidding folding, drawers, runners, hinges, locks, door closers, profile sections, profile handles and many more.
An exclusive workshop in association with Pidilite Industries was conducted by IITC Mumbai for the Interior Designing Students where the students learned various techniques in making murals and various applications of paints using leftover material to create interesting and cost-effective items such as lampshades and wall art. It was indeed an interesting workshop which was quite insightful and enjoyable for the students
Interior Designing Students of IITC Ahmedabad went for the Heritage Walk as part of their course curriculum. Heritage Walk is an experience to walk through the 'Walled City' AHMEDABAD declared as Heritage city by UNESCO. The walk commences from the early 19th century Swaminarayan temple Kalupur, encompasses 20 main spots besides numerous areas and aspects of the old city and concludes at the famous 15th century Jama Masjid. Hence the Walk is popularly known as the journey of 'Mandir to Masjid'. It truly observes the nature of its rich and varied architecture, its art, religious places, its culture and traditions. The objective of the site visit was to understand the various cultures and get an insight on how to apply them for different phases of designing projects.
