Site Visit Interior Designing Students of IITC Ahmedabad visited Rudabai Stepwell in Adalaj Vav village, Gandhinagar as part of their course curriculum. Built in 1498 Rudabai Stepwell is a great example of Indo Islamic Architecture. The objective of the site visit was to understand the various cultures and get an insight on how to apply them for different phases of designing projects.
IITC Mumbai in association with Pidilite Industries Ltd., Fevicryl conducted a Fashion & Accessory Creative Art Workshop for their students of Fashion Designing & Accessory Designing department on 15th December 2017. In the practical workshop, Shoe painting, Thewa Jewellery making, soft acrylic colors painting techniques on tank top, Tie & Dye effect, ikat effect etc. was covered by the experts from the industry. It was a wonderful learning experience for all IITC students. They found it very interesting & thoroughly enjoyed it.
IITC had organized a Fashion Seminar for their Designing students at The Leela Hotel on 6th September 2017. The speakers at the seminar were prominent personalities which included Costume Designer & Stylist Ashley Rebello, Make-up and Hair Stylist Ojas Rajani and Motivational Speaker Umesh Pherwani. The students also showcased their creations which was appreciated by all. Ashley also conducted a Practical Workshop which focussed on building Innovative and Creative abilities of the students.
An industrial visit focusing Fabric Development & Manufacturing was organized for Fashion Designing students of IITC Mumbai at various Manufacturing units & Export houses in Bhiwandi on 11th November 2017. The aim of this visit was to develop a practical understanding of all core elements & processes involved in Apparel Manufacturing & Development. This one-day industrial visit helped the students practically understand the process & each of them got a chance to have hands-on experience of the various structures in Fabric Making Power Loom, Dying Unit, Computerised Machine Embroidery Unit, Garment Cutting & Stitching Unit & Zipper Manufacturing Unit. Overall, each student gained a good practical exposure on the Apparel Product Development process with all the implications and opportunities.
A workshop was conducted for Fashion Designing students of IITC Mumbai imparting knowledge on Natural & Chemical Dyes with a practical demonstration on placement of different types of Blocks on different fabrics. IITC takes pride in thanking ex-student of IITC and now a professional, Ms. Rashmi VIra for conducting this workshop for our present students.
Fashion Designing students of IITC participated in a distinctive opportunity of a field visit to a garment manufacturing workshop of Shreeji Boutique at Infocity, Gandhinagar & were introduced to Basic garment construction principles and techniques such as garment appreciation, piping, frills, potli button, different type of stitches, pintucks, pleats, invisible zippers, patterns with elastics, layers etc. by the karigars there.
IITC Ahmedabad had organized a 3-day 'WORKSHOP TRAINING' for Fashion Designing students on ZARDOSI CRAFT. The training was conducted by SHAHID HUSSAIN ANSARI, who is also instrumental in development of 40 art pieces of Historical Monuments of 'UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE' in Ahmedabad.
IITC has organized an Inter-Active Seminar & Practical Workshop on Fashion Styling, Hair & Make-Up on 6th September 2017 at Hotel Leela, Andheri, Sahar, as a part of the Co-curricular activities of their Fashion Designing Course. The speakers for the seminar are ASHLEY REBELLO, a renowned Costume Designer & Fashion Stylist along with OJAS RAJANI- Hair Stylist & Makeup Artist. Entry for the event is only for IITC Fashion Designing students and by invitation only.
Cutting Techniques, contouring, dart manipulation were the highlights of the workshop. Mehul Darji is a proud Ex-IITCian and now a thorough professional. IITC Thanks him for conducting such a practical & knowledgeable workshop !!
