A fun field trip organised by IITC for their fashion designing students at Sayla in Gujarat. This field trip was a part of the curriculum for our studends.
Thinks we did are Historic Visit to Sayla Village, Ikat weaving, Beadwork Workshops from kathis who live in the village, Tangaliya weaving, Handloom and Khadi Clusters, Handicrafts, Bandhani Tie & Dye Process.
IITC Annual Get Together Party was held on the 3rd of December, for students of ALL courses at Matahari Club, Atria Mall Worli, Mumbai.

AJRAKH BLOCK PRINT with NATURAL DYES Workshop was held on 23rd November 2019
Ajrakh Block Print is a process of dyeing and printing on fabrics with Natural Eco Friendly Vegetable Dyes; Non Toxic and Non Allergic.
IITC organised a Workshop for their Fashion Designing students of Mumbai at the printing unit of “Pracheen”. Students were introduced to the Ajrakh Block Printing Process and they also given an opportunity to have a hands on experience by, The Masters of this Art & National Craftsman Ship Awardees, Mr. Ahmed Khatri and Mr. Sarfraz Khatri.
Each Student had the beautiful opportunity to develop the skill in block printing and also gained experience by learning and working alongside the skilled craftsperson. Every student developed beautiful prints using small wooden blocks usually with different colours obtained from nature. There were a melange of beautiful hand block prints Curated by each with sheer guidance from the skilled craftsperson.
The students tirelessly worked for the whole day & the day ended with the sense of contentment and pride for everyone as each one were handed out self made stole as a takeaway. It has been highly enriching experience for the IITC Fashion Designing students as they conceive the rich heritage hand made concept of block printing... with Natural Dyes.
The IITC, Convocation Ceremony is that time where hundreds of fashion graduates of IITC ,Mumbai are ready to head out into the world of fashion, equipped with shiny new set of credentials and a go better attitude.
The entire event was packed with promising faces of the future graduating students bidding adieu, an emotional farewell to a year of attachment with the batchmates, friends, faculties and the staff. The most profoundly inspiring words of wisdom were bestowed on the fresh minds by the mentors.
The well deserved students were conferred with awards for their outstanding academic excellence and graduation certificates. An evening filled with fun and frolic wrapped up with extremely Congratulations to each and every student on their well deserved success.
We were pleased to organise a Navratri Celebration at IITC Ahmedabad center.
A visit was organised by IITC, on the 27th September 2019, Friday at Hettich. In this visit students had a wonderful time and are thankful to the Hettich Team for sparing their valuable time & knowledge with our INTERIOR DESIGNING students in giving insight about hardware.
The Team was extremely kind to share the knowledge about wardrobe, kitchen, pantry, office door related hardware. Students also learnt about solutions for smooth operation of sliding channels, slidding folding, drawers, runners, hinges, locks, door closers, profile sections, profile handles and many more.
Fashion Seminar was organised by IITC, on the 24th of September, at the Leela Hotel for our Students.
In this seminar we had wonderful and prestigious Speakers from the field of Fashion and Make up come and share some words of knowledge with our students.
INTERIOR DESIGNING CONVOCATION was organized by IITC, Thane for its ever exhilarated Interior Designing Students.
The convocation ceremony was felicitated by IITC faculty members Ms. Amita Lodaya & Ms. Chitra Bal.

SAREE DESIGNING WORKSHOPS was organized by IITC Mumbai for its ever exhilarated Fashion Designing students as part of the cirriculum. The workshop consisted of various “Drapping” and “Styling” techniques.
The ebullient students had an amazing and refreshing experience of learning new techniques and were given garment appreciations such as Frills, Corsage, Rosettes, Bows, Tassel Tucks, Patch and Appliqué work to make things more fun and interesting.
Additional to this they were accompanied with various techniques of Styling Blouses, draping sarees and cholies and adding a super chique jackets to set new fashion trends.
PARSI GARA EMBROIDERY WORKSHOP was organized by IITC Mumbai for its ever aspiring Fashion Designing students. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Zenobia S. Davar, an eminent pioneer in the field of this timeless traditional elegance -Parsi Gara. Addressing to the students about the origin of the embroidery, she laid emphasized on the importance of this age old traditional embroidery, its skill development and product development.The exuberant students had a maiden experience of learning this embroidery.
They had hands on experience on the stitches like satin stitch,french knots,bullion stitch,stem stitch etc incorporated in Parsi Gara.
The students were also acquainted about the fake and real Parsi Gara embroidery.It was an extremely interactive and informative session for the students.Indeed a complete delight and honour to learn the ancient embroidery from the designer herself.
Participation Certificates were also issued to all participants by IITC.
Fashion Designing students of IITC Ahmedabad played with the way fabric falls to create new designs at the start of the apparel design process in their Draping session which was conducted by faculty Ms. Ishani Patel.
Fashion draping is an important part of fashion designing. Draping for fashion design is the process of positioning and pinning fabric on a dress form to develop the structure of a garment design.
While the majority of companies in the fashion industry no longer use draping as a part of the design process, draping is a key skill which allows apparel designers to understand what creates a great fit and how to achieve it.
Make over & Stylizing session conducted by make up artist Ms. Chandani Motwani on 28th and 29th June 2019 for IITC Fashion Designing students of Ahmedabad as part of their course curriculum.
Students learnt about different cosmetic products and how to choose the correct product for their skin tones.They also learnt different styles of makeup for daily-ware, party-wear and traditional-wear. Overall the session was very practical & informative.
An informative visit to Hafele Studio was conducted by IITC Mumbai, for their 2018-2019 Batch of Interior Designing students where the students learnt about the specialized products and fittings available by the leading brand Hafele. It was quite an insightful visit where the budding interior designers of IITC Mumbai were informed about the applications and use of the various fittings.
After a successful session for Ghatkopar,Mumbai, one more Make over & Stylizing session conducted by make up artist Ms. Charmi Doshi for IITC Fashion Designing students of Churchgate,Mumbai and Thane as part of their course curriculum.
